Screen Time
Black Widow
The screen time in The Avengers is fairly equal with Black Widow having 24 minutes, 45 seconds and Iron Man having 31 minutes, 45 seconds. But considering they are both original avengers they should have equal screen time.
Again, despite being an original avenger, in Avenger’s End Game, Black Widow’s screen time was 16 minutes.
Compared to the original Avengers movies, Scarlett Johansson has a much longer and equal screen time in Black Widow at 1 hour, 42 minutes. Although this film gives the opportunity for the audience to learn more about the character, it was released way too late (after Black Widow had already died in Avengers: Endgame!)
The Joker
Joaquin Phoenix’s The Joker running time: 2hr, 2mins
Joaquin Phoenix’s screen time: 1hr, 43mins
Wonder Woman 1994 running time: 2.5hr
Gal Gadot screen time: 1hr, 4mins
Gal Gadot has a significantly lower screen time in Wonder Woman despite it being her film. This is unequal and does not give Wonder Woman a chance to tell her story.
Captain America
In Captain America: Civil War, Captain America is seen on screen for 38 minutes, 15 seconds. Whereas Black Widow is seen on screen for only 12 minutes. King T’Challa is only seen for 11 minutes, 30 seconds.
In Captain America: Civil War, Steve Rogers is the main character but these other characters are important to the plot and should be given equal screen time.
